Deanna Dorta, MA, LPC

Deanna Dorta is a licensed professional counselor and an accomplished life coach. She is a Senior Therapist for Dallas Whole Life Counseling, recognized and respectedDeanna Dorta for her broad life experience and calm, centered approach to her therapy and coaching work. As an undergraduate, Deanna attended North Texas University, where she earned a B.A in advertising and design, with a minor in psychology. As a graduate student, Deanna attended Amberton University, where she earned her M.A. in professional counseling.

Deanna has extensive experience working with a wide range of clients, from individuals in executive management positions, to adults transitioning from community assistance programs. Over the past 10 years, Deanna has worked with organizations such as Reconciliation Outreach, New Beginnings Center, Guinn Special Programs Plano, and numerous others. Utilizing CBT (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy) and other structured, goal-oriented approaches to therapy and coaching, Deanna helps clients overcome depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD and anger issues. She also helps clients cultivate powerful insights about their past. Deanna encourages clients to better understand how old, self-limiting beliefs learned in childhood may hinder the client in realizing his or her true potential in the Here and Now. In her work with couples, Deanna confidently addresses issues surrounding communication, sex, gender roles and other common relationship roadblocks. A creative, dynamic therapist, Deanna finds unique ways to connect with teens and children as well as adults.

Deanna has been happily married for over twenty years, and is raising two teenage sons. She frequently travels to Brazil, speaks some Portuguese, and enjoys bike riding, cooking and reading.
